Class Reunion Quotes – Top 7 Tips For Choosing Great Sayings When Planning Your Reunion Party

If you’re planning a reunion as a class, sooner or later you’ll be looking for words to add to your save-the-date sheet, website, email, or even promotion. A great quote will motivate your classmates to attend the meeting. Here are seven ideas for choosing the right quote for your big event.

1. Don’t be discouraged if your favorite search engine doesn’t offer many options, if you type the following words: class reunion quotes. In fact, you may not be able to find any quotes that contain this phrase. Tryon Edwards: Every meeting is a form of heaven, every parting is a form of death. But it’s a bit heavy for a party.

2. Search for memories. To find the right quotes for meeting your classmates, you need to ask yourself how you want your former classmates to feel. Encourage them to reminisce about the good old school days. Here are some examples:

* Time passes, but the memories of your friends cannot be erased.

* Chance to reminisce, share memories and replay songs with old friends. – Ricky Nelson

* A fond memory brings light to other days around me. — Thomas More

* If you remember me, it means that you took something of who I was with you, that I left some imprint on who you are. It means you can call me back in your mind even though countless years and miles stand between us. If we meet again, you know me. – Frederick Buchner

* Remember whenever you want, happy memories never get old. – Libby Fudim

3. Remind them of your old friendship. One of the biggest reasons to attend a reunion is to reconnect with friends from high school. Look for quotes about friends, especially those that emphasize old, tried and true friendship. Here are some ideas:

* No amount of distance or time can diminish the friendship of those who thoroughly believe in each other’s worth. — Robert Southey

* Nothing is as comfortable as an old friend.

* I don’t think I’m happy like I miss my good friends. – William Shakespeare

* Never forget the days spent with you. Always be my friend because you will always find me your friend. – Ludwig Van Beethoven

* We all take different paths in life, but wherever we go, we take a little bit of each other.

4. Talk about memories. You can help your classmates relive your memories by finding out facts about your high school events, grades, songs, sports, and movies. Or you can find quotes with a nostalgic theme, for example:

* The essence of memory is the awareness that what was will never happen again. – Milton S. Eisenhower

* An occasional nostalgia trip is good for the soul. – Dan Bartolovich

5. Try a little humor. A well-chosen funny joke is sometimes more effective than a philosophical quote. Here are some jokes for you:

* Middle age is when your classmates don’t recognize you because you’re gray, wrinkled, and bald. — Bennett Cerf

* The real fear is waking up one morning to find that your seniors are running the country. – Kurt Vonnegut

6. Listen to those oldies. Music can trigger all kinds of memories. So you can borrow a line or two from a popular song from your graduation year. If none of these are suitable, you can search for lyrics about missing you, friendship, or reminiscing about the good old days. Some possibilities include “Memories” by Barbara Streisand, “Memories” by Little River, and “You Remember” by Lynne Rimes.

7. Use your own words. You don’t need a famous person to give a great speech for your class reunion. Flip through your old yearbooks and see if there are any interesting notes from your former students or teachers. Brainstorm with your committee and see if you can come up with some word ideas. Ask classmates who have registered online to leave comments. One of them may be just right for the occasion. Finally, you can always use your school’s motto if you have one.

At first, finding a good quote to meet classmates can seem like a daunting task. But if you use these tips, it’s easy to collect a nice selection. Search for words with the right keywords, pay attention to song lyrics, or write your own phrases, and you’ll have plenty of options.

How To Exit Out Of Youtube And Still Play Music Clarion Call, Will You Answer?

Clarion Call, Will You Answer?

Lord Krishna asks us, “So tell me, how many freedom seekers will know the whole truth of myself? Probably only one.” In the birth of each human being, God issued a call for His children to come home. Our busy lives prevent us from hearing this important request. It looks like we hit the close button.

Returning home was not easy to achieve, for we were lost and not as wise as Hansel in leaving the gravel road. At each birth, God sends one or more of His liberated children to guide and direct us home. They see us playing in the playground, sharing their messages, we listen, but most do not take action.

The voice of God is everywhere. It’s in the roar of the ocean, the song of birds, the wind blowing on the dust, the laughter of children, the sun and the light of Stars. Our ears have grown to the tune of car horns, shouting on the wall, television, radio, watching DVDs and movies. Caught in chat apps, real estate apps. The loud voice that God went into silence. In order to ‘communicate’ with God, we must go into silence.

The Lord Jesus Christ has given us a perfect technique. He says, “Be still and know that I am.” Power lies in the serenity of your inner self. All thoughts must rest. The hungry body must rest.

Great Yoga agrees that in the depths of silence you will hear OM. Ohm gives birth to creation. By repeating these words with deep devotion and focus, you will open your relationship with God.

When we are silent, God speaks; when we speak, God hears. Power lies in listening. We were given one mouth, but blessed to have two ears. Most are not training or teaching to listen. It is easier to say what is on your mind than to listen to what others have on your mind.

Sleep on us so God has His time with us. When we dream, the magic door opens. Another world is there to explore. There is so much God wants to tell us if we are just determined and listen. Take a little time each day to reflect on a wonderful life. Rejoice in the fact that you are a part of it.

One problem is that we imagine God millions of miles away. But the truth is that God is closer than wet out of tears. God always lives in your spiritual heart. Inside is where you will see our Heavenly Father waiting for you. Willing and ready to guide you through your problems.

Jesus had a problem with those who betrayed Him and crucified Him. He asked the disciples to stand and watch so that He could go to the Father in prayer. His heart was heavy, and he had to place his burden at the feet of our Father. His disciples were weak, and they fell asleep three times when Jesus needed them most! There are so many human beings, we have fallen asleep, can not stand and watch and hear what our Heavenly Father says, wake up! Listen to your inner voice, it is the mighty voice of God, I am great! Listen to Clarion call home!

The word Clarion has seven letters. Number seven, control your spiritual home. Most souls have become so comfortable in calling the earth home that they forget that their true home is spiritual. With God.

The letters c and l are governed by the number 3, which is the number of sounds. As a noun, the word clarion is associated with music. Your universe and interior vibrate to create a beautiful sound. Human voices have the ability to make such wonderful sounds. Everything that vibrates makes a sound and everything vibrates! Triple (3 + 3 = 6) lets us know that our home is with God.

The letter C opens like an open mouth. You have to stand guard and let beautiful and encouraging words flow from it. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” His mouth.

The third letter a thinks it stands alone. It is governed by the number 1, which is an independent number. In fact, everything depends on God. Our ego makes us think we work.

The letters r and I are governed by the number 9, which is the number of completion. At each birth, you must strive to make it your last. Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven, and your sins are forgiven.” When we find ourselves in another body, it is because of our negative desires and karma. The trick is to pay off your debt, fulfill all desires or have only one desire, and that is to love God with all your heart and soul and not create new negative karma that will force you to go back. No reincarnation!

The sixth letter o is denoted by the number 6, which is the family number. God sent our liberated brothers to try to inspire us to give up the little ones for the big ones. All souls will unite with the Father, all the way to God. Do you want it now or a million years from now? Your choice.

Letter o is an open opportunity, why not go home now?

The seventh letter n is ruled by the number 5, which is the number of incarceration in its difficult aspect. The worst joke is to think you are free when you are in prison. The soul is wrapped in three bodies. It is very difficult to free yourself from the body because it is the heaviest. Our five senses convince our ego that everything we see, smell, taste, and touch is real. We become more and more connected and addictive, which keeps us coming back again and again for spiritual enjoyment.

The number pattern for clarion is 3 3 1 9 9 6 5 when added (3 + 3 = 6,6 + 1 = 7,7 + 9 = 16,16 + 9 = 25,25 + 6 = 31,31 + 5 = 36.3 + 6 = 9)

Number 9, our core content vibrates with the same message, followed by the letters r and i, to fulfill your desire to repay your debt, to create new karma, and to get out of the wheel of reincarnation.

Music Is My Life It Helps Me Through The Night Registered Nuts – A Night in the Life of an ER Nurse

You are searching about Music Is My Life It Helps Me Through The Night, today we will share with you article about Music Is My Life It Helps Me Through The Night was compiled and edited by our team from many sources on the internet. Hope this article on the topic Music Is My Life It Helps Me Through The Night is useful to you.

Registered Nuts – A Night in the Life of an ER Nurse

I’ve ceased with the pre-shift ritual of meditating in my parked truck along with a soothing piece of music. No more prayers to God en route to work asking for more patience, more humanity, more understanding. I have accepted the fact that it will be no different than any other night in the Emergency Department, no matter if I blare Yanni’s rancid piano etudes or make a promise to God to pass out my own body parts to the discharged patients as they leave. Nothing will change. I use to look forward to making a difference in someone’s life, helping a poor soul whose body has given out. Those moments are few and far between now. Instead, I resign myself to the fact that the next 12 hours will be spent pasting a fake smile on a tired body, going through the motions of caring, repeating ready-made lines of false concern and giving out medical advice that fall on deaf ears. I use to feel important in my role as Charge Nurse at a major ER of an inner-city charity hospital. Now, as I sit in my truck at 6:45 in the evening, gangster rap blaring, I send out a quick impromptu message to God….. “Please God, allow me the opportunity to be gainfully employed 12 hours from now.”

7:02 PM-

I receive a quick report of the clingons and leftovers who haven’t made it out of the department by change of shift and to no surprise to myself and the night crew, a few names are all too familiar and the reports of their latest “illness” easily recitable from memory. The usual apologies from the day crew for not getting them out before we arrived go unnoticed. A shrill screech from one of the psych beds startles no one. We all just look up from within the “safe” confines of the nursing station, confirm that our overweight security force is camped out beside the room, shake our heads briefly and go on about our business. We go through the ritual of taking our own baseline vital signs, popping a few Xanax and removing sharp objects from our pockets. Patient safety is important and we wouldn’t want to accidentally stab one of them repeatedly in the chest.

7:17 PM-

My primary job aside from direct patient care is triage. Initial interview, vital signs, brief medical history, current medical problem, current medications, height, weight etc etc. My first of 35 or so fits the typical profile of this or any other ER in the country. 40 year old, female, morbidly obese, diabetic, hypertensive, multiple psych meds, very little English, less common sense, no means to pay. She complains of the usual nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and generalized abdominal pain. She’s already spent thousands of dollars of other people’s money last week for the same complaint. She didn’t fill her scripts, didn’t follow up with her Gastroenterologist as requested and by no means was this 300 + lb, truffle hunting leech going to alter her diet one iota in order to prevent another attack of diverticulitis. Her idea of a “Clear Liquid Diet” was a bucket of chicken and bowl of menudo an hour prior to her arrival. So here she is, totally oblivious as to why she is still sick. Non-compliant with her meds, non-compliant with the discharge instructions, follow up or diet instructions, which included a bland, low-fat, liquid diet for a few days until she was able to tolerate semi-solid/or solid food.

She bitches profusely when she is not brought straight back and put into a bed, instead she is sent back out to the waiting area for a lengthy wait. We are full and busy with the truly “emergent” patients but she can’t seem to fathom this. She barrels through the exit door, into the waiting area calling me every name in the book (in Spanish) and swearing to never come back again. “PENDEJO!”, she mutters. Oh, she’ll be back.

“NEXT”!

7:31 PM-

My 3rd patient is a 23-year-old mother of 3, the oldest being 10. She has somehow mistaken our “EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT” for a pediatric clinic and wants her brood “checked out” because they feel “hot.” No temperature ever taken at home, no Tylenol or Motrin given before the decision was made to spend $1500.00 of other people’s money and to waste our time babysitting 3 snot-nosed, unkempt ankle-biters who are no more sicker than the man in the moon. I usher them one at a time onto a scale for weights and am not surprised that each is twice the size they should be at their particular ages. One, I have to pry finger foods and a “Big Gulp” from their obstinate little mitts prior to the weight so as not to inadvertently add 5 lbs to his already triple digit reading. The electronic scale beeps incessantly and reads, “ONE AT A TIME, PLEASE.”(Ok, not really) With all their vitals being normal they are ushered out into the waiting area where they eagerly pounce on the furniture and run around like the defensive line for the Attention Deficits.

I am verbally attacked by my obese belly pain lady, who has “been waiting for hours” (uh, how about 20 minutes). I instantly notice the “positive Cheetos sign” on her fingers and around her lips and remind her that the sickest are seen first and to have a seat. She tosses me a “Pincha Pendejo” and rumbles back to her seat. I sneak in a quick call to God asking that he makes sure she looks before she plops back down in her chair(s). I can hear the intercom announcer now, “CODE BLUE TRAUMA, ER WAITING ROOM.” I mentally picture the scenario of the code team spending the next hour removing baby Julio from the rectum of a 300-lb verbally abusive Hispanic woman.

“NEXT”!!

9:21 PM-

I’ve survived the dinner crowd with my job intact and make my way back to the treatment area to assist the rest of my team in the treatment of the patients who were lucky enough to make it back ahead of the non-emergent riff-raff. I make my way to the EMS radio station when I hear…..”Unit 842 code 2 patient report”….we have a 102 year old nursing home patient,….found unresponsive on the floor….no IV….she’s now awake, combative, confused, covered in stool, incontinent of urine, blah, blah, blah…” The report from the nursing home prior to her EMS transport reveals that this patient had a tendency to “dig out stool from her rectum when constipated.” “Oh, that’s just friggin lovely”

9:25 PM-

The waiting room intercom a buzz……”I beeen waiting for 10 hours, you pendejo…you piece of….” Click!

9:33 PM

Our lovely elderly finger painter arrives, covered in poop from head to toe. EMS personnel smirk as they wheel her by, updating us as to any changes en route. Nope, no changes, except that now she’s given up the fight and is again unresponsive and her breathing more shallow. In an instant her breathing stops and is immediately rushed to trauma 1 where CPR is initiated. “CODE BLUE ER-1, CODE BLUE ER-1.”

9:57 PM-

“Time of death, 9:55” is belted out by the code team leader. “She never stood a chance.” “It was her time.” “She had a long and good life.” Blah Blah Blah Blah. She had a horrendous death. Born covered in amniotic fluid, but certainly a proud moment for her parents one can be sure. She died, however, covered in shit, piss and bedsores. The nursing home where she spent her remaining days in agony and perpetual loneliness should be burned to the ground. No family, no attention, nowhere near as prominent and proud as she once was. Left to waste while the understaffed workers at Our Lady of the Perpetual Petri Dish took their extended breaks and pillaged through her personal belongings. A courtesy call to the nursing home is placed telling them that Mrs. Mullins will not be coming back and has been transferred to the ECU (Eternal Care Unit). I hear, “Whew, thank God…..CLICK.”

10:22 PM-

Our usually bevy of drug-seeking, bipolar, depressed, suicidal, Xanax, Vicodin, Demerol hounds arrive as scheduled with multiple and varied complaints of, migraine headaches, chronic back pain, stress, anxiety, fibromyalgia, blah, blah, blah….!

They are easy to spot, almost always familiar, with the same ole’ story. Most we know on a first name basis. They are all, coincidentally, allergic to the same medications; Tylenol, Motrin, Vistaril, Toradol, Aspirin or any other non narcotic or harmless placebo we’ve attempted to quell their “pain” with in the past. The only thing that works is “Demerol” and they must have a large supply of Vicodin in the form of a prescription when they leave. (Vicodin has Tylenol in it but apparently doesn’t cause a severe allergic reaction when mixed with euphoria,….go figure!)

Security is usually called, for to tell them “no drugs tonight” is just asking for a fight. $1000.00 later of other peoples money and they usually leave with their buzz on and their script for Vicodin. But usually not before asking for a “shot for the road” or additional scripts for anxiety (preferably Xanax) or sleep aids. 30 pills are often the number of pills given, depending on the frequency of the prescribed dose. This usually last a few days for the typical drug seeker and then they’ll usually return with more “pain” and a hungry monkey.

In the age when Doctors are sued for both under treating pain OR for prescribing too many narcotics and “getting them addicted”, we medical personal are caught up in the proverbial “catch 22”. More often than not I have been written up and on several occasions was at a point where my job was in jeopardy because I challenged their pathetic lies whenever these low-life drug addicts invaded our ER’s. Now I just shut up, shake my head and pray for an overdose.

11:12 PM

Waiting Room intercom is ringing off the wall. “…how long will I…….can you tell me where I am on the list……Donde esta su Doctor…….I can’t find my child……..the dingo ate my baby…..PINCHE PEDEJO, I BEEN HEER FER TWO DAYS AND MY ASS FEELS LIKE SOMEONE POURED SALSA RIGHT UP MY……….click.

Midnight in the garden of good (for nothings) and the evil (doers)-

After a flurry of non emergent triages, (sore toe, “the shakes”, anal abscess, foreign bodies in the nose, ears and stomach of a 2 year old, blah blah, blah) I call in an astute, well dressed, middle aged white male, who is walking quite gingerly and refusing to sit. Differential diagnoses race through my head, back pain, abdominal pain, rectal abscess,. or perhaps….no!….NO!……NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Yes!

The story goes (and it is a common one) that he and the Mrs. were “experimenting” in bed (against his wishes, no doubt) when a vibrator was jammed in his keester and is now painfully out of reach. Given the nature of the “injury” he is whisked back to a private room, placed on his side, lubed up like a 57 Chevy, and a valiant effort is made to retrieve the 12 inch “perpetrator with ribs” from his large bowel. All to no avail. At one point we had a hold of the foreign body (actually, it was made in the US) but the colon wouldn’t let go of it’s new found cylindrical friend. We tugged, twisted, yanked, pulled, all efforts proving futile. Finally the physician stopped, exhausted from the tug-o-war match, with the forceps, commonly used to removed big headed babies, protruding from the prominent lawyers butt, he made the decision to call in the surgical team. All efforts to remain professional, however, fell by the wayside when, during a moment of silence, a low buzz was detected in the room. Had the blood pressure cuff inflated? Were the incandescent lights buzzing? Was the TV on?

No, no and no. We looked at the forceps and noticed they were vibrating uncontrollably, instantly realizing at that point that this thing was STILL ON. A mad rush by the scant crew to the exit door of the private room was attempted as to not embarrass this local professional with our boisterous laughter. No dice.

We will all eventually be written up and apologies made for our “unprofessionalism and disregard for the patient’s privacy and mental well being”.

That’s ok. We needed that to preserve our own mental well being. Still proving that laughter is still the best medicine.

1:02 AM

Ten triages later and its dinner time for this mentally worn crew. We retrieve our food, locate it to the middle of the nursing station and we eat. Not all at once, mind you but usually a bite at a time. Eat a French fry, go wipe an ass in ER-1, a bite of a Big Mac, go clean up cherry cool-aid flavored vomit in ER-4, a sip of Dr Pepper, then physically restrain a combative Scitzo-effective patient. By 2:15 we have polished off the last bite of a hardened burger, ate our last stale French fry and sucked down the last gulp of our watered-down soda. A soda that is now as warm as fresh urine and food that is as cold as Mrs. Mullins in ER13.

2:30 AM-

Ahhh, my favorite time during the entire shift is upon us. The “Last Call at the local bar crowd” (LCLBC) start to pour in to the front entrance, while EMS brings the ones who got the shit kicked out of them through the back ambulance entrance. “Santa Rosa, this is unit 842….we are coming code 2 trauma with a 19 year old male…..closed head injury….intoxicated…combative….soiled….bloody…..no insurance…..blah, blah, blah.

The same ole song and dance spews from this patients bloodied spout as he is wheeled into Trauma-2……”I was just minding my own business”……”I only had two beers”…..”I don’t do drugs”….. “Can I get something to eat?” “RAALLLLLLPHHH!” “Housekeeping to ER Trauma-2, Housekeeping….”

2:31 AM-

“Dear Lord, If ANYONE can make time travel possible, it’s you, God.” “Pleeeese, send me forward to 7 AM.

3:03 AM-

Patient waiting room intercom is screaming………..”CLICK”…….”BANG, BANG, BANG”.

3:15 AM-

I am ushered into the staff break room for a “time out” and reminded by the night supervisor that the cost of the intercom will be deducted from my paycheck.

4:18 AM-

Our portly female beast of a woman is finally ushered back to a room but not before mumbling under her breath as she brushes past me, “Pendejo”! A major “abdominal work-up” is ordered. 40 lab tests, urine tests, stool cultures, abdominal x-rays, Cat Scans, blah, blah, blah……She’s placed in a gown that looks like curtains stolen from the Grand Ole Opry, and given the reminder “Opening to the back, please,” tossed in for good measure. (“Lord, give me the strength to………..Oh forget it, never mind”)

She’s given a URINE cup as she bounces her way to the bathroom. She fills it with STOOL. “Housekeeping to ER, STAT.”

Can’t find a blood pressure cuff large enough so we must take a chance at an erroneous reading by placing it around her calf or forearm. The hydraulic bed grunts and groans with ever twitch and shift from this woman of substances. She continues to bitch and moan and will eventually file a complaint with (in) human resources, I am sure. Multiple attempts at IV access finally yields a vein that hasn’t been choked off by the mass of arm fat and IV fluids are initiated. After a quick assessment by the ER physician she is off to radiology, with a little 120 lb tech pushing 600 lbs of patient and bed up to the 3rd floor for a series of $3000.00 radiologic exams. X-rays that were done just last week and that she has no intention or means to pay for. It would have been easier (and cheaper) had she driven to Sea World instead. Certainly more accommodating for a woman of her stature.

5:57 AM-

Multiple early morning stragglers are triaged and sent to wait. The foul odor of urine, poop, BO, booze, vomit, etc, permeates the air. “One Hour Left”, I thought. We get all the results of the voluptuous Ms. Hinojosa’s tests back and surprise, surprise….”Diverticulitis.” Perhaps this time she will be compliant with her meds, compliant with her diet, compliant with her follow up, compliant with life. “Fat chance,”I thought. (Pun intended).

Her IV is removed and a half gallon of fat globules ooze from the harpoon hole. She is hoisted off the bed with the help of several departments within the hospital; half of who will call in sick tomorrow with severe back spasms. The battered stretcher which now resembles a low-rider after a major accident is towed to the back for repair. Ms Hinojosa is discharged but not before requesting a breakfast tray. Request denied.

Off she goes to the local “Taco Cabana” for a flurry of assorted breakfast tacos and a bowl of menudo. “She you in a few days, Ms Hinojosa.”

“Pinche Pendejo!”

6:47 AM-

The dismal faces of the morning crew are evident as they reluctantly make there way in, some still in mid-prayer, the newer nurses with walkman’s on, listening to ocean waves or cricket noises saturated with Muzac. A quick report is given to the mentally exhausted night crew and apologies made for the missing bed in ER 3 and the dead body in ER-12.

7:07 AM-

Each member of the night crew, each with a phone in hand, are awaiting the instant the clock strikes 7:08 where, with lightning speed, a flurry of buttons will be punched to clock out, ending another horrendous but typical night in the ER.

7:47 AM-

I pull up to my apartment and sit quietly in my truck. I recall the night’s events and wonder if I had made any critical errors in care or judgment. I mentally prepare for the answers to the complaints made the night before by this unique ER culture of ignorant, non-compliant, abusive, poor, helpless, drugged-up, psychotic, dregs of society.

I say a prayer for Mrs. Mullins and her family and curse all those who’ve abused the system in the last 12 hours, spending thousands upon thousands of dollars of other people’s money but contributing nothing to society what-so-ever. Once I deem that I will have a job come 6:45 that evening, I ease my tired body and shattered mind out of my vehicle, meander up to my apartment and into bed, hungry, frustrated, angry. Where I will fight the demons for an hour or so until I am able to fall asleep. I don’t. I am woken by a dream whereby the ER staff are all patients in the waiting room on a busy night. I am called into the back where a 500-lb female nurse is ripping my clothes off with one hand and swinging a 6 foot rectal scope in the other like a pair of numchucks in a Bruce Lee movie. The alarm clock sounds and I immediately spring up and grab my ass, praying that a 6-foot proctoscope isn’t dangling precariously from it. It’s not. I breathe a sigh of relief and make my way to the shower and into another fateful night of chaos and mayhem.

6:43 PM-

I pull up to the ER, park my truck and sit. I clip on my name badge, giggle as I read our “Mission statement” tattooed on the back. “To extend the healing ministry of Christ,” it reads, and I take a minute to ponder that statement. I smile, acknowledge it’s powerful and profound meaning and bow my head to pray.

“Lord, today, give me your divine power to accept my responsibilities within this ministry. I pray that…”

Just then a beat up delta 88 rolls by on two wheels, with a definite lean to one side. I watch as they take up two parking spaces in the “staff” lot and out pops Ms Hinojosa. I cringe. She leaves a trail of urped-up fajita and menudo through the patient parking lot, into the physicians parking area, towards the ER entrance. Anger churns inside me and I hang my head, looking down at my badge and the mission statement on the back. I try desperately to find the peace and pride I felt just 2 minutes earlier and I resume my prayer……”Lord,….I just…….If you could only find it in your heart to…………OH FORGET IT!!!!!……. NEVER MIND.”

Music Is My Life And My Life Is Music Quote A Feministic Study of "Wiser Than a God", A Short Story by Kate Chopin

A Feministic Study of "Wiser Than a God", A Short Story by Kate Chopin

A popular local colorist during her lifetime, Chopin is now recognized as an important figure in nineteenth-century American fiction and as a major figure in feminist literature. Born on February 8, 1851, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Thomas O’Flaherty, a prominent businessman, and Eliza Faris. Her best known work, The Awakening (1899), depicts a woman’s search for sexual freedom in the repressive society of the American South during the Victorian era.

Throughout her literary career, Kate Chopin, much like her fictional heroines, explored dangerous new ground. She created female characters that test the boundaries of acceptable behavior for women and explore the psychological and societal ramifications of their actions and desires. They are forced to make existential choices based on the few avenues available for them to create and maintain autonomous identities outside of wife and mother in the late nineteenth-century American South. Chopin’s protagonists attempt to physically or spiritually transcend these limitations but often meet with crushing results. Chopin does not guarantee her characters an admirable place within their society, but she portrays them with dignity and sympathy.

Kate Chopin began her writing career strikingly with the creation of a triumphant woman artist-Paula von Stolz-a character who seems to be a projection of the author’s own ambitions. “Wiser than a God,” Chopin’s first story accepted for publication, portrays the resolution of the woman artist with utter confidence. The central conflict of the story involves the dilemma Paula faces when, after the death of her mother, she receives a marriage proposal from George Brainard, a wealthy, attractive man and must choose between a comfortable, conventional marriage and the career as a concert pianist for which she has spent her entire life preparing.

This article aims to study the important feminist notions and concepts such as “marriage”, “Identity” and “Woman Figure” in the story of “Wiser than a God” based on feminist theories from Simone de Beauvoir’s The Second Sex.

a. Marriage

Chopin introduces the institution of marriage as a choice rather than an absolute issue in a young woman’s life in an early short story, “Wiser than a God.” The story is prefaced with the ominous Latin proverb “To love and be wise is scarcely granted even to a god” (241). It is clear that in this story, love and wisdom will be mutually exclusive entities and one must choose between the two. Mary E. Papke suggests that in the story, “Chopin draws the mind/body split [….]” (38). The story centers on Paula, a beautiful young woman and extremely gifted pianist. She manages to shun romantic love in order to focus on her dream of a musical career until she meets George. George is very much in love with her and desperately wants to marry her. For the first time in her life she is conflicted about her future.

Paula begins to succumb to George’s affection: “She felt such a comfort in his strong protective nearness” (246). She refuses, however, to marry George, claiming that marriage “doesn’t enter into the purpose of my life” (249) -a shocking revelation. George does not understand Paula’s ambition and passion for her music and the role that it plays in her life. According to Martha J. Cutter, “Perhaps in the end language is simply not important-she succeeds without it. But Paula continually finds her attempts to explain her needs are not heard at all; even her mother tells her not to ‘chatter’ (243). Paula attempts to explain to him how important it is to her and asks him, “Can’t you feel that with me, it courses with the blood through my veins? That it’s something dearer than life, than riches, even than love?”(249). George is taken aback by her fervent declaration and answers, “Paula, listen to me; don’t speak like a mad woman” (249). It is clear that George represents societal views on marriage, and that Paula’s depiction, is based on her sharp realization that she will lose herself if she becomes George’s wife.

Although she does not marry George, Paula’s assertion that, had she married him, she would have been expected to give up her music, is proven correct with the woman he eventually does wed. Although his new wife had been an avid dancer, she “abandoned Virginia break-downs as incompatible with the serious offices of wifehood and matrimony” (250). As much as this woman was expected to give up her love of dancing, Paula would have been expected to give up her music. Here, the author points out the irony of marriage. Instead of the role of wife conveying merely social and familial woman marries, will be the defining and only identity she will have ever again. According to Papke, “Paula [….] chooses to follow the purpose of her life though she be deemed a ‘mad woman’ by George and his type, to position herself in a state of insanity. By the conclusion, it is clear that the author believes Paula to be wiser than a god” (39). Paula, however, does sacrifice deeply. She lives solely by her intellectual, rational side, effectively ignoring the desires of her heart and body.

b. Identity

“Wiser than a God,” Chopin’s first story accepted for publication, portrays the resolution of the woman artist with utter confidence (Toth 2). The initial part of the story brings up some general facts and information about Paula’s character as an artist who adores music.

These clues from the very beginning demonstrate the fact that music is merged with Paula’s character and has granted an identity to her. It’s obvious that by music she could display herself, and she could catch the attention of people around – whether in a party, in a society or in a town. These magnificent abilities could support Paula and distinguish her from the girls who lack this talent.

It is worth noticing that from the very first lines of the story, Chopin has also introduced music as a character along with Paula. Music is the soul that lives within Paula’s body. In this way Chopin illustrates both music and Paula as central and significant matters in the tale.

The central conflict of the story involves the dilemma Paula faces when, after the death of her mother, she receives a marriage proposal from George Brainard, a wealthy, attractive man and must choose between a comfortable, conventional marriage and the career as a concert pianist for which she has spent her entire life preparing. Here Gorge’s occurrence makes Paula to think of amity, affection and relation with an opposite sex. Therefore Paula at some moments after becoming familiar with George describes him as a handsome gentleman and compares him to other males that she is in relation; and approves that George is superior to them in look and appearance “He was so unlike any man of her acquaintance…she could at the moment think of no positive point of objection against him”(246). This womanly sensation that inevitably exists in Females’ nature does not make Paula to yield. Paula doesn’t want to sacrifice and annihilate her liberty and her identity that she achieved by hard practice in music. After her Mother’s death she becomes more devoted to music which is the symbol of her true self and her autonomous identity. She prefers the dreamy world, which belongs to art and music, than the real and patriarchal world, which belongs to George and his society. She believes living in moments without music is equal to extinction, annihilation and “deterioration” (248). But George expects that Paula will be willing to give up her musical calling for “the labor of loving” instead (248). He proposes to her, never fully comprehending her devotion to her art or realizing that it could conflict with her devotion to a man. Paula, who admires George, is thrilled at his request but realizes that they must part. She doesn’t allow George to separate her from her autonomous identity; even when she comprehends that George is tempting her, she shushes him up and tells “don’t tempt me further” (249). That’s why when George wants her to answer whether she is marring him or not, she couldn’t answer him confidently and she asks George to give a one week interval to her to think. George believes that he is the ‘Subject’ and the ‘Absolute’; for him Paula is the ‘Other’ not the ‘Self’ who could have an independent identity that could decide either to get married or to stay single. He couldn’t understand Paula because her character is imperceptible and unclear for him and for his society. When Paula says that marriage has no place and no position in her life, he never understands; because the society that George belongs to is occupied with girls and women who yearn for people like George to propose or marry them; so he says “Paula listen to me; and don’t speak like a mad women”(249).

George suddenly and unexpectedly sees someone different from the girl he had known as Paula begins to talk about the purpose of her life with her “father’s emotional nature aroused in her” (249). Paula makes a passionate defense of her art, something she knows she cannot understand:

What do you know of my life,’ she exclaimed passionately. ‘What can you guess of it? Is music anything more to you than the pleasing distraction of any idle moment? Can’t you feel that with me, it courses with the blood through my veins? That it’s something dearer than life, than riches, even than love?(249)

George’s reply to this-“don’t speak like a mad woman”-betrays his incomprehension and his belief that a woman who gives herself so passionately to artistic pursuit, particularly at-the expense of a potential husband, must be insane. Until now he has known Paula only as the “daughter of the undemonstrative American woman” (249).

Paula’s abilities increase in the absence of a male muse; and her loneliness and seclusion is often itself perceived as a final revolt against the society that has refused to provide her an acceptable space within which to pursue her creative inclinations. Paula’s struggle to attain her full potential as an individual is thus best perceived as deeply related to her efforts to develop her creative abilities, to grow her art, and to discover an affirming place within her world.

In this early story, Kate Chopin explores art as a kind of divine bondage, as suggested in the epigraph, “To love and be wise is scarcely granted even to a God.” Paula does love and feels physically attracted to George but is wise in her decision not to marry him. She is an exceptional woman and has the wisdom to recognize that “the purpose of her life” would be destroyed by marrying him (249). The story, rather than focusing on Paula’s moment of public triumph, shows Paula beset with temptation in her most vulnerable moment. By choosing to become a concert pianist instead of George’s wife, Paula satisfies both her own ambitions and her parents’ and thus keeps a meaningful connection to them even in their death. Seyersted notes that “Wiser Than a God” has certain affinities with de Stael’s Corinne in George’s momentary belief that he can accept a wife who does not live solely for him and his family but that it also shows a pronounced difference in Chopin’s heroine’s ability to resist romantic temptation: “unlike the French heroine… Paula tells her suitor that life is less important to her than the unhampered exertion of what she considers her authentic calling and her true self”(105).

Paula knows herself, and thus is able to avoid the trap that marriage to George would have become for her. Self-knowledge, Chopin implies, is the most important attribute of the woman artist. By listening to her own heart and instincts, Paula turns away an inappropriate mate and gains the possibility of union with a man who is talented in his own right and who is willing to let her pursue her career to its fullest. At the end of the story, Paula is resting “after an extended and remunerative concert tour,” and Max Kunstler, her former harmony teacher, is still following her “with the ever persistent will-the dogged patience that so often wins in the end” (250).

“Wiser than a God” was a triumphant beginning to Chopin’s publishing career. Never again did Chopin present the resolution and success of the woman artist so confidently and without compromise. Paula achieves fame, wealth and love. Paula seems a kind of fantasy for Chopin, an empowering wish-fulfillment, a visualization of what the woman with artistic ambitions might accomplish. This story shows the resolution of the woman artist as Chopin wishes it to be, and it implies that a woman might achieve success and fame without having to give up everything else.

“Wiser than a God” is an example of what Julia Kristeva identifies as “an imaginary story through which she [the woman writer] constitutes an identity” (166). Chopin allows none of her other women artist characters such success, however. This indicates the realization of the autonomous female artist by indicating Paula’s increased awareness of self even within the current restrictions of her society. A woman who wishes to become an artist as well as a self-reliant individual faces a double challenge in the historical context of the story. Paula establishes the possibility that the future female artist will be able to assume a respected place within her society and to maintain productive relationships that support aesthetic creativity.

c. Woman Figure

“Wiser Than a God” contains Chopin’s most outspoken demonstration of the self-sufficient woman. It is the only story she provided with a motto and her one example of what can be considered quite overt feminism, and the picture of the girl who becomes a famous pianist suffers from the strong emphasis. (Per Seyersted 117)

The acceptable role that a patriarchal society defined for a woman is that, a woman is the mistress of the house and she has to obey her husband, and take care of the house and her children. She is only allowed to interfere with the house chores, kitchen and cuisine; as Michael Warton in his article notes that: “Culturally, women are associated with the home, defining it but, crucially not owning it” (106).

In spite of Charles insistence to marry Paula, Paula prefers her solitude and wishes to be at the service of herself rather than others. She never accepts to shoulder the responsibilities of housekeeping and motherhood. She is an emancipated woman who doesn’t care for society’s expectations and regulations. Paula largely answers to Simone de Beauvoir’s definition of the emancipated woman that is, a female who “wants to be active, a taker, and refuses the passivity man means to impose on her”; who insists on the active transcendence of a subject, the pour soi, rather than the passive immanence of an object, the en soi; and who attempts to achieve an existentialist authenticity through making a conscious choice, giving her own laws, realizing her essence, and making herself her own destiny (Seyersted 104).

Ultimately, Paula reaches her goal, that is musical profession; and in her progress she achieves fame, popularity, and independence; the factors that a feminine woman lacks (Simone de Beauvoir’s definition for a feminine woman is: the woman who lets the men decide her destiny). The pride indicated in Paula’s family name does not manifest itself in a haughty attitude toward her admirer; she is soft-spoken compared to the impetuous, youthful George who insists that she is throwing him into “a gulf… of everlasting misery.” But she speaks up when she realizes they are in two different worlds, that he represents the patriarchal view of woman, and she the view of Margaret Fuller that women so inclined should be allowed to leave aside motherhood and domesticity and instead use their wings to soar toward the transcendence of a non biological career. […]George for a moment believes he can accept a wife who lives not solely for him and his children; […], Paula tells her suitor that life is less important to her than the unhampered exertion of what she considers her authentic calling and her true self.( Seyersted 103-5)

In the story we could witness the presence of feminine Victorian woman, like Paula’s mother, who is a widow and a devoted wife. She has bestowed her life for training her child and she never remarried even after years of her husband’s death. George’s wife is the other sample of typical Victorian woman who is ironically mentioned in the last lines of the story; that she was a professional dancer but she “abandoned Virginia break-downs as incompatible with the serious offices of wifehood and matrimony” (250). So Paula, the only emancipated woman in the story, never agrees to play the role of her mother in future and she never accepts to play the role of a submissive wife for George.

Music Is My Heart And Soul More Precious Than Gold A Silent Witness – To the Greatest Financial Heist in World History

You are searching about Music Is My Heart And Soul More Precious Than Gold, today we will share with you article about Music Is My Heart And Soul More Precious Than Gold was compiled and edited by our team from many sources on the internet. Hope this article on the topic Music Is My Heart And Soul More Precious Than Gold is useful to you.

A Silent Witness – To the Greatest Financial Heist in World History

Assalam alaikum,

I once heard Imam Siraj Wahaj describe his own actions during a speech held at Regents Park Mosque, London. He qualified himself as being the least knowledgeable speaker on the panel. While explaining his position he made a profound statement, the depth of which I have not forgot – (very loosely paraphrased):

“I am the least qualified amongst these speakers of eloquence but that has never been my fear nor my concern.  What concerns me is that I have sure knowledge on what I speak of and when I know something to be undeniably true then that becomes my true position and I hold firm to that position, unmovable in the face of views to the contrary.  That is the reason why I am up here and able to hold your attention and connect with you, I’m passionate about this”.

I think that statement resonated with me because at that point I could see a man who neither feared his peers nor was afraid to trust his own judgment and was passionate about what he believed in. He also struck me as a man not afraid to adopt the contrarian view. I intend to adopt the same position in an attempt to speak my mind and add to the discussion on a financial issue which has remained in the dark for far too long despite the sincere efforts of more intelligent souls to bring the issue out of the darkness and into the light.

I’ve heard it said that the majority are not always right and I think at times there is some truth to this statement, many are the messengers who brought intelligence which contradicted the common thought of the time but were eventually proved right.  A lot of problems which crept into the scripture of the Judaic and Christian religions came by willful changing of the original text. Changes also appeared due to certain authorities either enslaving the custodians of the scripture and stripping them of their recorded text or by manipulation of personnel into positions of authority who then steered the religion onto an alternate path away from the original. Islam and the Quran has never been unfortunate to have suffered the exact fate of Judaism and Christianity, our text has remained intact but the physical expression of the text has not been immune from neglect and it is this very point which I wish to address.

People always make comparable observations as to what makes the best in art, music, food or cinema etc. but when it comes to a complete religion, I’ll take Islam every time. Is Islam not perfect? It truly is a perfect religion but it obviously does not exist in a vacuum. It materializes through the actions of imperfect men and we try to do our best in spite of our flaws. It is important to recognize that we are not flawless but in our attempt to be, or be seen as righteous we should not become blind to our own failures, or worst still, blame them on somebody else, that would be undeniably wrong. Now when somebody tells me that practicing Islam in a non Islamic country makes perfect sense, I know they are lying. By this reasoning our beloved and best example of the embodiment of this religion, Prophet Muhammad pbuh, would have stuck it out in Mecca and not left to start an Islamic State in Medina. He would have, had to compromise on the main political and economical aspects of his message and instead focus more on the spiritual and ceremonial elements but at least he could have stayed in Mecca.

But there were a couple of issues which flew in the face of the Meccan authorities which they could not tolerate. One problem which they detested was the Islamic call that ‘there is no God but Allah’, for them this presented a huge issue, for if there were no God but Allah, who were all these other created deities which they prayed to, what were they supposed to do with them all and who would ever need to visit Mecca if all these various gods were gone? If they agreed to this religion they knew they would have to submit to the laws of this deen. They imagined the huge impact that these changes would have on their own lives, their towns importance and potential earning power.

The other major problem they had was that Mohammed pbuh was as honest as they came. He not only dealt and traded with people in a honest manor but he would openly warn of the Meccans dishonesty in trade with the visiting pilgrims. He showed Islam’s stance on honest money, honest trade and charitable works. Suffice to say Mohammed pbuh refused to compromise.

Islam without law is imperfect. Comparably the Western Civilization would not be where it is today void of law. Within Islam there are laws which protect general society, laws which are punishable. There are also laws which appeal to the individuals idea of self regulation, which tests the believers testimony of submitting his or her will to the will of Allah swt. When people talk of easily practicing their religion in a non Islamic country a distinction should be made. It is true that in some cases they may have more freedom of speech, movement and political expression than in some so called Islamic countries but to be content with that position is a huge mistake because it is based on compromises which our beloved Prophet would not make.

They should be honest and admit to the compromise that they need to adopt in order to make as it were, a square peg fit into a round hole. The law of self regulation is practiced only, by Muslims in these foreign lands and becomes separated from the Islamic State laws which cannot be imported into the new land. And so the believer is faced with a compromise, to adopt the existing law of the land which he finds himself in and then claim it to be so identically close to Islam that its does not matter that he abandons the idea of Islamic law, or to live under the foreign law but at the very least, try to establish the revival of the Islamic State in a suitably accommodating part of the earth. Both are compromises one better than the other.

Sound money is a medium of exchange and a store of value. Without these two basic principles anything else is a pale imitation, fake, counterfeit, fraudulent. Question: what would your action be if you sold an extremely valuable item to me and after the trade had been completed you realized that I had paid you with fake money. No need to answer, your reaction would be obvious. But hold onto the mindset of that reaction and use it on what comes next. If we go back to the philosophy of determining the best things in life, then it is easy to assume that gold and silver happen to be the best examples of money used throughout history, a store of value and a medium of exchange. Each metal is not valueless until someone prints an external value on it, the value is intrinsic to the metal. You cannot flood them into existence at little or no cost, it is extremely costly in both labor and finance to dig the metal out of the ground and then fabricate it.

The supply is finite and difficult to attain which is another characteristic of real money i.e. everyone wants it but can never get enough of it. If at any time, there is not enough gold and silver in the market then alternative goods are used to exchange in trade. This was acceptable to our beloved Prophet pbuh. Now to the controversial part. How is it that we now accept as money worthless paper one indistinguishable from another save for a small difference in size and print and each costing a few pennies at most to produce. Paper money came into existence as an alternative to carrying around the goods that the receipt represent. That’s what they were, a receipt, testimony that the original owner did in fact hold the amount of gold shown on the paper within the secure premises of the Goldsmiths. A lazy but convenient method of passing on the receipt to another to settle a trade developed but the new holder of the receipt would go and redeem the gold as payment and thus, the transaction would be complete. This worked for a while until the receipts became passed around so much so that very few were ever redeemed.

The Goldsmiths, later to be known as Banks became rich especially as they would then loan the unclaimed money out at interest. Now I hope you did not merely let out all that pent up reaction at the first occurrence of the word interest. We as Muslims have been brainwashed into thinking that so long as we refuse interest on our bank accounts we have completed our duty and avoided Riba or Usury but who told us this?. Consider the money in your purse or wallet, it is irredeemable, does not hold its value, its so called value is not intrinsic but printed on its exterior and without the brainwashing holds little real value other than that of a few pennies worth. Our currencies today are nothing more than I.O.U’s that are at present irredeemable so basically have little or no value. What s worse is that each bill tells you that it is an I.O.U and this is written on top of every note, it is a message from the Bank of England, a promise to pay you the bearer the sum of £5,10,20 or 50 on presentation of that note, but exactly what would be the purpose in presenting £5 to the bank in order to receive the same £5 back in return, that would be completely insane.

But you have carried this message around with you for most of your adult life and have you not reflected on its true meaning? Of course they are supposed to pay you back with REAL MONEY, gold or silver!!! I challenge anyone to try and prize what they are owed from a bankers hands, getting blood from a stone might be easier. But a question arises, can one pay ones Zakat with an I.O.U.? I think not but of course since we do not have an Islamic State, Zakat is not wajib or so I’ve been told. So what am I doing here, am I actually paying my Zakat or not? This is how mixed up and crazy things have become. When I once tried to pay my Zakat with real money in the form of precious metal at the mosque (the name of which [mosque] shall remain nameless to protect the innocent and confused) they tracked me down within the mosque and told me to take it back and pay with real money instead! My fault I guess for being so provocative.

So we now have a merely personal Islamic existence devoid of a home, devoid of an Islamic structured framework in which to correctly practice our deen, using fake money all over the place and yet we say things are perfect, God give me strength. We are in so much trouble and don’t see, to know it. Look at the Muslim world. We are in trouble. I hope we can now look around the Muslim world and specifically at those who hold power and examine the type of currency which they provide and force their people to use under the terms of ‘Legal Tender’. How bad does it have to get before we realize the situation. Let me backtrack for a moment here, in case some of us have not guessed it yet and as a result of the money we happily use without a second thought one can only come to the conclusion that we are seriously playing with usury and just in case some of us are still scratching our heads, let me state it plainly, we are up to our necks in Riba. I think at this point we should remind ourselves of the advice of our Messenger pbuh.

Abu Said al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) had said:

“Whoever amongst you sees anything objectionable, let him change it with his hand, if he is not able, then with his tongue and if he is not even able to do so, then with his heart and the latter is the weakest form of faith”

Now lets be honest here and with regards to our money, one would have to ask as to when have we ever taken the statement above into consideration?

Concerning our condition as Muslims in the world, you have to admit we are on our knees here and considering that Allah swt sometimes starts with those he gives the trust to should we not then consider the following verses from the Quran and question whether they are also applicable to us.

Al-Baqarah Surah 2. The Cow

275. Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say: “Trade is like usury,” but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat (The offense) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein (for ever).

276. Allah will deprive usury of all blessing, but will give increase for deeds of charity: For He loveth not creatures ungrateful and wicked.

277. Those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and establish regular prayers and regular charity, will have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

278. O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and give up what remains of your demand for usury, if ye are indeed believers.

279. If ye do it not, Take notice of war from Allah and His Messenger. But if ye turn back, ye shall have your capital sums: Deal not unjustly, and ye shall not be dealt with unjustly.

280. If the debtor is in a difficulty, grant him time Till it is easy for him to repay. But if ye remit it by way of charity, that is best for you if ye only knew.

281. And fear the Day when ye shall be brought back to Allah. Then shall every soul be paid what it earned, and none shall be dealt with unjustly.

Now after reading those verses, one is surely forced to admit that we have a huge problem for even if you wished to free yourself from this situation where in the world could you operate free from riba.

You know there was a time when I would hear a particular group of Muslims speak endlessly about the need for an Islamic State and ashamedly I like most thought it important but not at the top of the to do list. But when I look at the economic, let alone the political situation of the Muslim world, it seems as if the way we are progressing or more accurately drifting, offers more questions than provides solutions. I fail to see how the true religion, the last great institution left on this earth to stand for honest money and good governance can possibly operate unprotected when its very honesty will be seen as a threat to those that compete with it. On the contrary, it would be naive to imagine that those that oppose would just sit idly by and watch whilst their own world deteriorates. I once thought that our biggest concern was the issue in Palestine but failed to recognize the direct link and importance between the lack of Islamic protection and the eventual situation in that country, surrounded as it is, by Muslim lands. I knew western politics was the enemy to a solution but never stopped to think where an Islamic solution would come from. I now revise my view and see the need for anything we can do to bring that umbrella of protection into being, as quickly as possible for the political, economical and physical safety of all Muslims around the world and those that would seek our protection.

My journey towards the world of Islam flew in the face of everything and everyone I had known up to that point, I had no physical guide to lead the way, yet the journey still had to be made and in the face of fears of the hardships I might experience along the way, from both outside the religion and inside, of which most proved to be true. But I have learned to trust my own judgment.  My initial confidence in my choice came from the fact that I had read the Quran more than once before accepting Islam as a way of life and I believe that gave me good judgment at that particular time.

My judgment of the facts in front of me bring me to a depressing conclusion.  As Muslims we carry an enormous responsibility that some of us fear ever so much.  I think we secretly know the fear of this responsibility down to the deepest, darkest core of our very existence because we know what it represents and what it asks of us, it haunts us to the very point of distraction – “O Lordy, please let this cup pass us by, not by our will but by yours!”. If the whole world salvation, whether they knew it or not, relied on us getting it right as the vicegerent, as the Khalifah here on earth, then only God can help us. And there’s the rub.  How can we be helped.

When we as Muslims, and I stand up here to be counted, progressively abandon our purpose and draw closer to the hollow success of the unbelievers, how can we then be the ones to be helped? Helped to do what?   Are we not the ones to bear the burden of responsibility? If we are not the ones to be relied on due to our trust in Allah – then who is?

The non believers openly declare their ignorance and have no clue as to their true purpose in life so how can they be relied on.  From whom do they seek guidance and help and what can they be helped with and to what purpose?

I found myself asking this question recently – ‘has our weakness and dependency on non believers just been exposed again? When the ‘credit crunch’ became the mainstream news issue the impact filtered belatedly onto the Muslim radar.  The issues and the failures of an insatiable capitalistic appetite were raised by us as an example as to why we were experiencing such problems but our radar failed to pick up one point, the question as to our response to the test we faced at that moment.  I think our weakness became apparent when we prematurely breathed a sigh of relief, when according to the media, the problem of recession had passed by with little or almost minimal damage, saved by these modern times of financial alchemy.

Its as if subconsciously we believed in the dribble spouted from personalities such as Greenspan, Bernanke, Darling or Brown in their proclaimed ability to pull off the impossible. This was our mistake and I fear we may be about to pay a miserable price for it. Have you noticed how quiet we have become on the subject.

How is it possible that we do not trust our own judgement but instead choose to defer and leave our welfare to crooks and criminals.  How many failed banks have collapsed in the U.S alone since the first financial crisis happened in 2008 – 185 and still counting and how many other failures exist around the world that we have failed to keep track of.  Who will be the next Dubai or the next Iceland.  How close is the UK or Greece, Ireland or Spain or indeed the mighty U.S to a financial Armageddon.  Surely we are the ones being tested. Surely the wheat is being separated from the chaff, the ones who desire to live by the truth and those who could not care less about truth.

The stupidity of people faced with a crisis of such magnitude is similar to that of the news anchors who present such dismal information beaming from ear to ear as if somehow their particular bubble has immunity from bursting.  They fail to imagine what this holds for them individually. When the great event overtakes us and when we call upon Allah swt to help us we better be sure we know what we are asking for and what part we played in the crisis. For if a bird were to sit up in the tree on that lazy branch beaming down on a fat juicy worm and simply believed that when starvation eventually threatened to overtake him all he had to do was to pray to Allah and somehow that worm would float right on up there into his mouth and satisfy his hunger, well I got news for him, sure it could happen anything is possible but I wouldn’t count on it, would you?

He has to put in the work to qualify for Allah’s swt assistance in the same way as all other creatures put in work especially in preparation for a harsh winter.  And indeed, without question, I believe that this is what we potentially may be facing in the near term, an extremely harsh and devastating financial winter, the like of which the world has never known before. Events as they have unfolded have proved themselves to be predictable, have they not?  Then how is it that we still fail to trust our own judgment and see the game for what it really is? How many more countries and financial institutions must collapse before we finally concern ourselves?

This crisis came as no accident, the mistakes being made by politicians, economists and intellectual think tanks are not made because they are uneducated or clumsy it is brought on by design. Notice how they continuously invent ways of pouring fuel on the fire when anyone in their right mind faced with financial embarrassment would get some control over their spending. Suffice to say we are now between a rock and a hard place.

We are told all manner of reasons as to the causes but it boils down to two basic principles, sound and unsound money.

In this document I have touched on a possible financial meltdown that most think is behind us, I’m afraid to tell you that what passed could possibly be just the opening salvo and if we remained unscathed in that fracas and was not caught up in the cross fire we should consider ourselves fortunate. What potentially follows may start the cycle of progressive economical failures and market meltdowns the pain of which will be hard to avoid and Allah swt knows best.

No matter what the exact date may be when the first cracks start to appear, those eager to test the waters with an early baptism into the ‘recovering housing market’ you were publicly warned. I too desperately await the arrival of an Islamic leader to rectify the state of affairs but in the meantime I fear the problems may materialize quicker than the solution and besides it is us who must prepare the way for such a leader to come. The near term solution and the solution that can be acted on immediately, on an individual basis and in the absence of an authoritative shield to seek protection from is to seek it in the God given currency prescribed for us long before we strayed from the path of monetary wisdom and that is – Gold.

Let me offer a worst case scenario and let me exclaim this is merely a picture of what could happen only in a worst case scenario. Envisage a time when the writing will be so clear on the wall that individuals on a global scale seek protection from financial destruction. Many will turn to gold as a solution as is already proving to be the case now. They seek its historical financial advantage in an effort to protect their families from hardship at that time. The price by then will probably not be affordable to many. People will have given up hope of their governments ability to protect them and fear will be replaced by anger. Astronomically high unemployment numbers will exist. Taxes will sky rocket. And if energy prices soar then the cost of food and essential goods goes through the roof while people realize the danger and clear the shelves. Social benefits strain under the demand and eventually fails.

Governments pursue the policy of transferring the wealth of the affluent into government coffers whilst the public applaud. Then it becomes the middle classes turn to be the next target on the authorities financial hit list, followed by the working class as they slowly realise the full guile and inventiveness of the governments intentions. The Bank of England as well as Central Banks around the world print extreme levels of their own currency to avoid depression, money quickly loses its value as a result. Unforeseen financial events not flagged up by the industries computer modeling forecasters begin to emerge. Huge overhangs of debt from derivative markets explode one causing another, bringing down major financial institutions. Expect to see angry Muslims running with the angry protesting crowds at that time complaining of the failure of governments sympathy to their needs. As retail outlets feel the pinch and can no longer justify the costs of maintaining an outlet in impoverished areas they are left with no choice but to shut up shops for good.

Those shops that remain open in struggling areas will constantly have barely dressed shelf’s caused by the failures of supply distribution and the inconsistency of their customers to provide cash. Some people may even turn to their own allotments and backyards to grow anything to feed the family. Want and hunger may prevent rationality and reason and borderline civilized society faced with mounting debts see little reason to remain civilized and may resort to acts of selfishness and criminal behavior. Now try to imagine reasoning with people at that time and offering them the same solution we have offered them for years but yet it is still intangible, even to us, a hard sell indeed. Which is why we need practical solutions on the ground now and in advance of any difficulties before its too late. The people who might hold the public attention at that time might be the people who can offer real practical solutions that have both immediate effect as well as being the beginning of a long term solution. A world division might ensue in which the western economies burdened with debt slowly descend into a pit of failure whilst the rest of the world capitalize on cheap labor and a rich industrialized future but with an ever increasing and very real threat of imminent war from the west.

If anyone still beckons the oncoming of such events because they only believe in the total breakdown of society before people will be ready to accept Islam please stand up so that we can all get a good idea of what stupid looks like in all its glory. Reckless and destructive behavior often takes less brain power than that of design and constructive behavior. I for one support all constructive efforts to build an Islamic future based on the divinely guided blueprint first shown to us by Prophet Mohammed pbuh. Which was the only time until now when an Islamic state had to be implemented from scratch.

Unless you have been living on planet Mars recently you could not have failed to notice golds price value seem to increase since the year 2001 and unfortunately for all those involved directly after the terrorist attacks on the U.S. when the price of gold was roughly $260. According to the press its value has reached new all time highs when it penetrated the $1200 per ounce mark. Do you know why? I have news for you the value of gold has gone no where it has remained as static as it always was. The value of the dollar has collapsed at a more intense rate since 2001 and more recently as predicted, the value of all world currencies have begun to follow suit in a race to find new lows. People of wealth are finding it increasingly difficult to find vehicles to preserve their wealth and the smart money have turned their attention to gold the old barbarous relic, the most hated investment class of so called western financial masters of the universe. Major news media have begun sounding the alarm to mark the top of the gold market.  Mark my words, I would not pay any attention to them and if you still scour the pages of the Times or the Guardian and god forbid the Sun newspaper to be rightly guided, ask yourself one question, if they could not see these events approaching when others could, how are they now the ones to coach us out of the difficulties. That thinking also applies to our politicians.

Please do not take any of my words as fact but take the opportunity to prove the issue true or false by your own research and reasoning.

How To Download Music To Your Phone Without An App 5 Simple Tips to Ensure You Select the Best iPhone Download Service

You are searching about How To Download Music To Your Phone Without An App, today we will share with you article about How To Download Music To Your Phone Without An App was compiled and edited by our team from many sources on the internet. Hope this article on the topic How To Download Music To Your Phone Without An App is useful to you.

5 Simple Tips to Ensure You Select the Best iPhone Download Service

Apple has a lot of serious fans who want to download good apps for iPhone, and if you are one of them, you should find this article very useful.

Downloading software to this powerful pocket device is desirable as many other manufacturers are active and the market is out of control, so be careful choosing wisely. Some say that the power of the iPhone is like a volcano that has not yet closed, the need for downloading it continues to come! You can expect more and better, but whichever service you choose – remember our tips below.

1. Safe

Make sure the site has a secure download. Some websites do not provide a secure download environment and otherwise these files may be hacked and adware and spyware will be added. Therefore, it is very important to make sure that the website is secure. After all, that is one of the main reasons you will choose to pay for an iPhone download. Look for https in the website address and for the special security authentication service identification symbol used by the website.

2. Choose the ease of use

This seems too obvious to mention, but we must say! Make sure it is easy to find the file you are looking for and download the program or song to your computer quickly.

3. Check their search function.

Any good website should provide a good search function for you to use in the website. Make sure you can easily find the song you want and you do not have to scroll through the archive page before finding what you are looking for. Some search engines work better than others to bring up useful results, so check it out. For example, some websites will help you focus your search better by using selective speech options for keywords, artist categories, or titles.

4. Download environment and speed

Downloading should be fast at the push of a button and should not slow down your computer. A good website will allow users to download multiple songs or applications at the same time and should show the progress of each download in the queue.

Many paid iPhone download services that offer unlimited iPhone downloads have been developed using a decentralized P2P file sharing service. We can not say the same about free services.

5. Decide on a monthly subscription or document payment

When choosing a website, downloading an iPhone is how the website allows downloads. Do you want to pay for each song or do you want to pay for unlimited monthly downloads? It will depend on the number of iPhone music downloads you plan to purchase each month. If you plan to buy a lot of music every month, a monthly plan may be most helpful. However, a more simple or variable download pattern is more suitable for paying for a download as a better option.

Finally, choose your download carefully when you register for your service. That “huge hard drive” that you thought you had when you actually started still has limited space, and if you go down to the iPhone for crazy downloads, you will surely fill it up quickly!

Music In The Soul Can Be Heard By The Universe Are Certain Frequencies Encoded in the Bible in the Book of Numbers?

You are searching about Music In The Soul Can Be Heard By The Universe, today we will share with you article about Music In The Soul Can Be Heard By The Universe was compiled and edited by our team from many sources on the internet. Hope this article on the topic Music In The Soul Can Be Heard By The Universe is useful to you.

Are Certain Frequencies Encoded in the Bible in the Book of Numbers?

It is often said that truth is stranger than fiction, and many ideas that were once considered fiction have now been proven true. How crazy is string theory, epigenetics, quantum mechanics or remote viewing? This is impossible for a mind that exists within a protective ‘box’. For a mind struggling to break out of the “box,” it’s an opportunity. For a mind free of the “box” it is a potential reality.

The purpose of this article is to stretch the proverbial “box” a bit further. To begin with, a brief history of Dr. Joseph Puleo is necessary. Dr. Puleo is a naturopathic doctor based in northern Idaho. A series of unusual circumstances beginning in 1974 led Dr. Puleo to uncover certain numbers and other mysteries encoded in the Bible. He was introduced to the Pythagorean method of numerical reduction (which will be explained later) and began to use this method to decipher the six numbers encoded in Chapter 7, Numbers 12-89. The numbers he discovered are: 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852. It’s a bit boring, so the explanation for decoding these numbers is given at the end of the article.

Before considering these numbers, a brief history of Pythagoras is necessary. Pythagoras was born on the Greek island of Samos. He founded the society we recognize today as the Pythagoreans. They lived in a communal environment and followed strict rules of secrecy. Some of their beliefs include: all reality is mathematical; the soul can unite with the divine; and some symbols have magical significance. The Pythagoreans were interested in the mystical nature of numbers and their concepts. One of the magical concepts developed by this society was the reduction of numbers to single digits. For example, 15=1+5=6; another example is 236=2+3+6=11=1+1=2 (we will discuss this concept later). The Pythagoreans believed that there was a universal law in the ratio of vibrations in the notes of a scale. They believed that this universal law affected the laws of music, the movements of the planets, and the life of the soul. Pythagoras is said to have said, “Study the mysteries, and you will know the secrets of the world.”

The unknown genius Nikola Tesla, the father of most of our modern conveniences, once said, “If you want to know the secrets of the universe, think about energy, frequency, and vibration.” And he said, “If you knew the majesty of 3, 6, and 9, you would have the keys to the universe.” John Keeley also wrote about the third, sixth, and ninth vibrational powers.

According to the revelation Dr. Joseph Puleo received, the numbers he discovered (396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852) are frequencies. This makes sense because everything is energy and energy is vibration and vibration is frequency. Even printing on this page is a frequency. In other words, there is no such thing no frequency.

Now that we understand the significance of the numbers 3, 6, and 9, we can perform simple calculations on these numbers and achieve amazing results. Each of these numbers can be reduced to 3, 6, and 9 when using the Pythagorean one-digit reduction method. For example: 396=3+9+6=18=1+8=9; 417=4+1+7=12=1+2=3; 528=5+2+8=15=1+5=6etc.

Another interesting calculation is to determine the difference between each number. The difference is either 21, 102 or 111. Again, using the Pythagorean method, these numbers all reduce to 3. By multiplying these numbers by any number and then turning them into single digits, some amazing calculations are done. The result is again 3, 6 or 9.

It’s fun to play with the math, but what can you do with these numbers that Dr. Puleo found, you might ask? According to Dr. Puleo, if these numbers are coded frequencies, they can be heard with a tone generator (available for free on the Internet). String instruments can be tuned to these frequencies and synthesizers. The keyboard can be reconfigured to pick up a maximum of two of these frequencies. However, let’s stretch our imagination and match these specific frequencies with specific “purposes”.

In a previous post, titled “Ancient Intentions Hidden Within the Solfa Scale,” I explained how singers have unwittingly channeled these ancient intentions into their cosmic consciousness for over a thousand years. Suffice it to say “goal”. everything. Our personal “goals” shape our lives. Our modern solfa words are “do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti”. The purpose of these words is to restore the infinite flow of God to humanity. With this understanding, we can apply the first frequency (396 Hz) to the word “do”, the second frequency (417 Hz) to the word “re”, and the third frequency (528 Hz) to the word “mi”. fourth frequency (639 Hz) “fa” etc.

Listening to these frequencies for the purpose encoded within them is very powerful. But you might ask how the intent is encoded within the frequency. Simply put, “goals” are coded as “goals.” Anyone listening to these frequencies with a tone generator or tuned instrument can “intend” to sing along to the tune, knowing that the “goal” is there. An example of this is the idea that by listening to 528 Hz and chanting the syllable “mi” a “miraculous event” will occur. It is nothing more than an act of faith. For a list of words and related purposes, see the previous journal article mentioned above.

Another way to apply the above frequencies and goals is to listen to music from composers who have specifically incorporated these frequencies and goals into their music. Sound crazy? Remember I told you at the beginning of this article that truth can be stranger than fiction.

Here is a brief overview of how this frequency was decoded. In the Bible, in the book of Numbers, chapter 7, verse 12, we find a reference to the first day. Moving on to verse 6, verse 18, we find the reference to the second day, six more verses, verse 24, the reference to the third day, and so on until the final verse in verse 78. of the twelfth day. What these poems have in common is the reference to similar ideas.

To arrive at the first frequency, the real numbers in the poem are added using the Pythagorean method of reducing the numbers to single digits. Thus verse 12 1+2=3, verse 18 1+8=9, verse 24 2+4=6, verse 30 3+0=3, verse 36 3+6=9 , verse 42. 4+2=6 etc. up to verse 78. The model here is 396, 396, 396, etc. This is the first frequency.

The next frequency is found in verse 13, which deals with offerings. Six stanzas, it is verse 19, the same offering or idea is repeated, six stanzas are repeated in verse 25, and so on. Therefore, using the Pythagorean reduction method, we obtain a reworked model. This model is 417, 417, 417, etc. Now we have a second frequency. The rest of the frequencies come in the same way. When all is said and done, the frequencies are 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, and 852.
