Kirby Super Star – Dream Land Is Under Siege Again!

The Land of Dreams is under siege again! Our hero Kirby returns to start the rescue. The Vice-King is taking over Dreamland’s food supply, but he’s not alone! Dinah Blade, Meta Knight and many other villains are on the loose and wreaking havoc across the land.

Use Kirby’s awesome powers to create “helpers” to help you in battle. Or get a friend involved in some two-player action by controlling Kirby’s sidekick. Help Kirby through EIGHT challenging games full of adventure and adventure. Battle in Spring Breeze, foot race against the Viceroy in Gourmet Race, and fight a winged warrior in Dyna Blade.

Improve your reaction to Megaton Punch and Samurai Kirby, then take on the Great Cavern Attack, Meta Knight’s Revenge, and Milky Way Desire. Each game is different and some extra special surprises are waiting for you!

This is a classic Kirby game and many more in 8 great games! The game is fun and sometimes difficult. Everyone will enjoy tracking Kirby around Dreamland and beyond. You can make your way around Kirby’s enemies by swallowing them and then using them as projectiles, or you can steal the power of any enemies you’ve swallowed. There are so many powerful enemies that you can’t always get your old power over and over again.

The power you get does more than one thing, for example: if you have the beam ability, you can shoot a beam regularly, charge it with a powerful burst, grab an enemy and shoot them, and release these blue dots. Sticks damage enemies. As long as you have the power, you can create a helper based on the power you have. A companion will then assist you in your quest, which can be controlled by an AI or your friend can control it.

You can also gain power-ups and touch certain areas instead of sucking and swallowing enemies. Kirby can fly, if you didn’t know, he can fly over anything if he wants to. While underwater, you can use certain powers, but otherwise you’ll be doing underwater special attacks.

The levels are fun and the enemies are well thought out. The bosses are excellent, ranging from easy to very difficult, providing a good challenge while being fun at the same time. When Kirby stops flying, he sends out a cloud of dust that can hurt enemies. Kirby can also slide while running to damage enemies.

Here’s a rundown of the Kirby Superstar games featured in the walkthrough…

Spring Breeze – King DeDeDe has stolen all the food in Dreamland and it’s up to Kirby to stop him. Spring Breeze is a simple yet fun way to introduce new players to the world of Kirby. You’ll go through 4 stages with the classic Kirby formula of devouring enemies and stealing their powers. Each containing a boss you must fight. It’s not a challenge for most players, but a good way to sit back and enjoy a classic Kirby game.

Dyna Blade – A giant bird named Dyna Blade is terrorizing the land, so guess who’s on a mission to stop it. Yep, that’s right Kirby! Offering more levels than Spring Breeze, Dyna Blade is a bigger Kirby game than Kirby Superstar. And there are some secrets, and I’ll let you figure them out for yourself.

Gourmet Race – Climb a really high mountain to get the precious food at the top, Kirby discovers that King DeDeDe is on the mountain and plans to get all the food. Kirby and King DeDeDe decide to collect food and race to see who gets the food. Basically, you race King DeDeDe to the finish line through stages while collecting food. You can also play time attack to beat your best time.

The Great Cave Invasion – While on a picnic, Kirby falls into a hole and discovers a giant cave rumored to contain millions of dollars in treasure. Kirby must go through the cave and collect all the treasures. You don’t need to collect them all, but if you want to save 100% of your game files, you should. The Great Cave Raid is a challenge for even the most skilled players, as some treasures are quite difficult to find and obtain.

Return of MetaKnight – The evil MetaKnight and his crew set out to conquer the dreamland with their giant flying ship. Of course, Kirby jumps on the attacking star and heads for the action. MetaKnight’s Revenge can be quite a challenge for people, and it has a great story. It also uses the classic Kirby formula, but many surprises and challenges await you.

The Desire of the Milky Way – The Sun and the Moon fight, and day and night mingle in the Land of Dreams. Guide Kirby through different planets and try to get everything back to normal. Instead of the classic devouring and copying abilities, the Milky Way’s desire is different. You get the powers and then you get them forever. You can then switch between different powers at will, a concept that puts a whole new fun twist on Kirby action. Milky way wishes are very fun and sometimes difficult.

Megaton Punch – This mini-game is quite fun but very easy. You can play 1 or 2 players and choose the level that suits you. First, you adjust Kirby’s power meter by pressing any button when the power meter is full, then you press any button again when two cursors flying around match up to form one, and finally, when the pendulum is inside the ring, you press any button. Now you have a score and if it is more than your opponents, you win. It’s that simple.

Samurai Kirby – Like the other minigames, you choose the number of players and the difficulty level in Samurai Kirby. This game is a test of reflexes and “!” as soon as you see it, you are asked to press any button. Whoever clicks first wins. Don’t press any of the buttons early, as you’ll be disqualified if you do it too quickly. Samurai Kirby offers a lot of challenges and fun.

Kirby, the ultimate SNES hit, has never looked better. Most of the enemies look really good and detailed. The food used to restore Kirby’s health is also very good. The backgrounds are simply stunning and showcase the enchanting world of Dreamland. All the movement on the screen is very good; Kirby and enemies. The mini cutscenes are almost perfect and really well detailed. Kirby Superstar is one of the best games on the SNES in terms of graphics.

Sound quality:

Everyone loves listening to Kirby’s music, right? It’s pleasing to the ears and flows well with the game. Some stages may have mediocre music, but most are simply the best. The sound is great too, clean and perfectly in sync with the action. If you hit something with a certain force, you will hear the sound you imagine it would make. As you become invincible, you’ll hear amazing fast-paced music, and who can forget the Kirby dance music. Everyone loves Kirby Dance, or I would have thought so.

Game controls:

The controls of Kirby Superstar are really good and easy to learn. You can use the D-Pad to move Kirby around and double tap right or left to get dashes. You can also press up on the D-Pad to enter the door and press down to make Kirby sit/duck. Press down and B simultaneously to slide the starfighter. Press B to make Kirby jump, and hold it down to make Kirby fly.

Your flight time is unlimited, so don’t worry about falling. The Y button is probably the most important in the game as it causes Kirby to swallow enemies and you can spit on other enemies or gain abilities. The Y button can be used to shoot aerial projectiles while flying and use water cannons while underwater. If you have the ability, you can use the A button to create a helper, if you don’t have the power, you can use the A button to get rid of the helper.

The L and R buttons do not protect Kirby from all enemies and obstacles. Start pauses the game, and if you want to reset, just press Start, Select, L, R at the same time. If you’re a helper and can’t get far from Kirby, you can use the A button to warp into Kirby or self-destruct, but it’s not a big deal.

Replay Value:

Add eight games in one game plus mini-games and you’ll be playing Kirby Superstar for a long time. It will take you some time to collect all the treasures of the Great Cave Raid and all the power of the Milky Way Will. If you have a second player to help you, you’ll beat these games over and over again because of the multiplayer feature.

Final thoughts:

This is Kirby Superstar in a nutshell. I recommend this game to anyone with a SNES, I’m really disappointed we never got to see a port for the GBA, but oh well. They took the good things from the original Kirby game, threw in a few mini-games, found all the secrets to get the real ending, and made it two-player. What more could you ask for?

Even though Kirby Crystal Shards was released for the N64, I still think it’s the best of the Kirby games. It did everything perfectly, but the first one was more innovative. If anyone has a chance, they should try this game, they definitely won’t regret it!
