6 Secrets to the Most Fun Places to Eat in NYC

Taking a bite out of the Big Apple is a fun and satisfying experience. There are so many places to visit in the city that it can overwhelm your taste buds. But if you’re anything like me, New York City always calls my name and entices me to visit again and again. Famous for making dreams come true, this place is also famous for its culinary experiences. This is what I love to eat in New York. It’s no secret that on the way to the show, it’s heaven to grab a hot dog in Manhattan, find a Thai restaurant in Chinatown, or even visit fine restaurants in town like Jekyll and Hyde. great food.

1. Gorilla Cheese NYC:

I love a good attitude and I love a good grilled cheese sandwich. My hometown has this all-time favorite menu spot, so I wanted to check out the NYC version on the road. Gorilla Cheese NYC is one of the most popular food trucks in the city, and for good reason. The sensory overload menu is filled with aromatic cheeses, fresh bread varieties and condiments, so you can choose what you want on your sammy. I ordered the special of the day, the Brooklyn Special, a perfect combination of asiago and prosciutto de parma on a well-crafted inside-out panini. It was the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. Then I filled up on their Mac and Cheese Bites. They had two thumbs. Good thing this meal was “road trippy” and since I had a few blocks to get to my next location, I could walk to it every night and get some satisfying calories.

2. Jekyll & Hyde Club:

Well, the Jekyl & Hyde Club is not for the faint of heart. Located at 91 7th Avenue, their motto is anything can happen at their dining club, and it’s true. Get ready to be scared to death or whatever you want to call it! I was on pins and needles and doubted my mind was only on the menu. The dark, low light atmosphere reminds me of Halloween and the 60’s TV series Dark Shadows. The creepy cast/wait staff were cooking a unique “What Happens Next” while we were eating. But I was very happy with the delicious yet terrifying menu. Build your own monster burger, Frankenstein’s favorite, Mom left me wondering about the ingredients and who’s cooking in the kitchen. The burger is wrapped in cheese for heaven’s sake! We ordered the Cannibal ham, pepperoni and meatball pizza. And washed it down with a familiar bottle of beer. .They have a huge drink menu that won’t scare the pants off you!I recommend making a reservation, especially if you’re going to get a group that includes your Emmys.

3. Garrett East Dinner:

Wow, nothing like foraging. This small, but infamous generation is hidden away, so only those in the know know about this little gem. Fortunately, we did. Our team knew someone who ordered us. It only seats about 20 guests and reservations are essential. It reminded me of Carrie and Sex and the City , who like to hit the latest hot spots. The Mexican food for dinner was delicious and ready in New York minutes, which is great news when you’ve been hungry for a long time in the city. The seafood was extraordinary and the fact that we were behind an unmarked, closed door made the experience wonderful.

4. Freeman:

This deliciously delicious beauty is located on Bowery Street and has been offering great food since 2004. Hmm, street food is not up your alley, but think again. Freeman’s Restaurant is a fine dining experience inspired by old-world American traditions, with a little bit of American history in every dish. I was drawn in by the whole roast Edenbrook trout, Beluga lentils and even their famous half roast chicken. My favorite was the French Fries, Black Lentils, Saffron Aioli and Spring Onion Vinaigrette which I shared with my sister. Once you finally grab a table, you won’t want to leave. The sensory experience is second to none and the service is top notch. Freeman’s accepts reservations…get this…one month in advance, and groups over 13 must book a year in advance. This is planning! They say it’s part of the dining room or a picnic, but if you decide to visit on a whim, you can wait and wait at the bar and finally eat there.

5. Bohemian:

Unique, stylish and personal style I would describe as a Bohemian, Japanese restaurant and bar. This hidden gem is conveniently located behind Dog’s Meat Shop in Manhattan. The key to this day is that you have to know someone to enter. I can’t believe we were able to score the table because it’s so special and mysterious. I immediately fell in love with the low sofas, the artistic atmosphere, and the Asian atmosphere. This historic building was home to famous artist Andy Warhol and later to famous graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in the 1980s. As an art appreciator, the creativity and history of this building was truly humbling. Now about the food. Prepare your chopsticks and appetite, because everything on the menu is as extraordinary as the setting. I ordered a bucket of oysters and enough sake for a sailor. Andy Warhol would have approved.

6. Tehuicingo:

Pass! Well, I can never say that, but I can recommend it! This unique joint is tucked away in the back of a bodega (a small Spanish-speaking neighborhood grocery store) and is open until midnight, get this, for only $3.00 to get one of the most memorable tacos of your life! The secret is located inside the Tehuicingo deli and grocery store in Hell’s Kitchen, making the experience even more memorable. Trust me, you won’t walk away hungry. The portions are family sized and the flavors are authentic. Note that there is no table. That’s right. You hold your stomach and lean on the counter or get a reclining chair. All you need is your appetite and a Mexican adventure. You can also take salsa or other foods home to snack on later.
