Brainwave Concepts & States of Consciousness – Enhance Self Hypnosis Via Brainwave Technology

At the most basic level, the human brain operates from two states of consciousness. The first is the conscious mind, which is our normal state of mind when we are fully awake. The conscious mind is the logical and critical mind used to make decisions, think, solve problems, and interact with the real world, such as walking and running. The conscious mind chooses to believe or disbelieve something.

The second of the two states of consciousness is the subconscious mind, which controls much of our reactions, emotions, beliefs, habits, and thinking. The subconscious mind is driven by emotions and tends to believe everything it sees, hears and sees. This is why what you say (or think) to yourself matters. If you think – this will never work – your subconscious mind will accept this as true and will make you act in a way that fulfills this assumption.

The brain operates in four different frequency ranges known as brain waves. Frequency range is like tuning your radio to the FM or AM band. In this analogy, you can think of the FM band as one set of brain waves and the AM band as another set of brain waves. And the TV band may be a third set of brainwaves.

Each frequency range is associated with a different level and type of human brain activity. The most active (and highest operating frequency range) are called beta brain waves. Beta brain waves actually operate between 15 and 40 Hertz (ie, cycles per second). The brain operates in the beta range when it is fully awake and engaged in active thought, such as problem solving, teaching, or singing. Beta brain waves are typically alert and functional.

The next lowest level of brain waves is the alpha state, which covers the frequency range of 9-14 Hertz (cycles per second). Brain wave activity usually slows down when a person is awake, but calm, relaxed, and reflective. The alpha state is relaxing and reflective.

When someone is hypnotized or self-hypnotized, the alpha state is the relaxation phase in which the hypnotist asks the subject to close their eyes, breathe deeply, and relax. In this state, the subject is preparing for the armpit, but has not actually entered the armpit yet.

The third level of brain waves is the theta state, which covers the frequency range of 5-8 Hertz. The human brain operates at these frequencies when the subject is very calm, sleepy, or dreaming. The theta state is often accompanied by a free flow of new ideas, which is characterized by high creativity and subconsciousness.

If you’ve ever been driving and suddenly realized you couldn’t remember anything you saw in the last 5 minutes, you’re probably in the theta state. When you reach the theta state during self-hypnosis, you enter a hypnotic trance.

The lowest frequency state of the brain wave is the delta state, covering the frequency range of 1.5-4 Hertz. Dream sleep (characterized by rapid eye movement – REM) typically occurs in the 3 to 4 hertz range, while the 2 to 3 hertz range is the range of dreamless sleep. Normally, the brain is asleep when it reaches this frequency limit. During self-hypnosis, the brain is fully hypnotized when it reaches this frequency range.

As the brain moves into the theta and delta brainwave ranges, the subconscious becomes the primary state of consciousness, and the hypnotist (or recorded self-hypnosis scripts) can communicate directly with the subconscious around critical aspects of consciousness. Assuming that the hypnotist or self-hypnosis scripts follow the rules for successful self-hypnosis, the subconscious will accept what is said as true and change the subject’s behavior, beliefs, and subconscious actions.

One of the 7 key factors in a successful self-hypnosis script is the use of binaural beat technology. The basic concept is to insert one audible frequency into one ear and a second audible frequency into the other ear. The brain picks up the difference between the two frequencies, a third frequency called the beat frequency.

By implanting a pulse frequency that matches one of the alpha, theta, or delta brainwave frequencies (below the range of human hearing), the hypnotist can more easily induce hypnosis and communicate directly with the subconscious.
