Practicing Music Effectively – How to Apply This Practice Technique to Quickly Improve Your Skill

Friends say – you need to exercise …

How many times have you heard from your co-workers or parents that you need to work on some method, technique, or method?

They all seem to have a cure for your pain. However, none of them know what we are struggling to achieve, but they may be close. They have no real way of guiding us to the heart of the matter. What they have is the experience they have gone through to overcome similar problems.

Notice how your teachers have been leaving lately? I do this because it is their advice that we respect more than anyone else. In most cases, it should be treated this way. They work to program what should be done and how.

A challenge of method

I would challenge the majority of their practice areas today.

I don’t believe that all teachers, especially my friends, know what good practice techniques are. Do it like 20 times in a row and it makes your eyes bleed. In my opinion, gentle exercise is the best proven slow cure for mediocrity and boredom.

Repetition is standard

The concept of repeating what you’ve learned and playing it over and over again until you get better is not part of the process. It has been my experience that repetition practice to repeat simple things takes a long time, let alone better mastery of musical elements.

I’m not saying you can’t repeat exercises and songs, I’m just saying you should do it with a different approach and mindset. I have experienced this and I believe there is a better way.

The key to effective exercise

My key to the most effective concepts and practices is to focus your attention on small, very specific improvements. This means that you’ll focus on repeating smaller exercises and getting better with each attempt. As it gets better, you expand your focus to include more. Sometimes called addition.

But this effective focus is more than just an addition. It’s about grouping a set of notes and making them sound better each time you play them. You’re not just running 10 times; That’s because it sounds different every time you play it.

The next time you sit down to practice music or measure, notice how you approach it.
