Acid Rock Music – A Blast to the Past

Most people have heard the term Acid Rock music. Many of them have heard it. If they spent their childhood at home with their parents in the 1960s and 1970s, this was probably their lullaby. Some of them may have spent some of their teenage years wandering around their homes and classrooms wearing Grateful Dead T-shirts, ripped jeans, and trying out old Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin records.

When they’re your age…

Whether they know it or not, this music was created for various drug experiments. It’s a small fact that most of the artists who wrote these songs were under the influence of acid at the time. Thus the name Acid Rock Music was born. If they weren’t, there were people listening to it. With songs like Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” and band names like Bubble Puppy, it was easy to see the attempt to revive the experience. There was a long list of bands and bands that paid homage to the musical genre. A few examples are The 13th Floor Elevator, The Blue Magus, The Bermuda Triangle, Zachary Tax, Phogat, and Molly Hatchet.

Pay homage to the music… Man.

Acid Rock first appeared in the sixties. It spawned many hits and wonders throughout the eighties. The Grateful Dead rose to prominence in and around 1969 and continued until the end. They still have fans. Once a rock sensation, British band The Beatles are known for their mainstream and psychedelic acid rock. Then the genre reached a whole new level.

Time for some new threads

Style came out of music. Out went the conservative dress of their parents, and in came the hippies. Jeans, crazy colored shirts and long hair dominated the generation of Acid Rock Music. They were all about other realities instead of the reality they were. People shopped at stores known as Mr. Fish and partied the night away with friends.

Signal!

Acid rock music is a defining part of the sixties and seventies. This is where eighties Hair Metal and today’s hard alternative rock came from. It was the kind of music your parents hated, just like your parents hated it. It’s a musical experience based on drug use. Confused phrases, wild horses and colorful beats, the music is a spontaneous journey in itself. Unless you understand the phrase “being under the influence”, no one can say for sure how pleasant it is.
