The Power of Passion

Once upon a time, a man named Jack worked very hard at his job. He went to school in his field of interest and got a job in a similar field. He found a good wife and had 3 beautiful children. Life was good in adulthood, but he felt like he was on the treadmill of life. He got up every morning and went to work that he loved, but he also took vacations that he looked forward to. Due to the balancing act of working long hours at work, taking care of her family, and spending time, she had lost most of her hobbies. The dreams Jack talked about in his youth (traveling, starting his own business, becoming a golfer, winning fantasy football, etc.) remained in the back of his mind, but they were small. Jack lives a successful life by American standards (income, job, home, family, etc.), but he doesn’t jump out of bed in the morning: there’s no spring in his step, he seems to carry a high standard. from stress. All in all, she was happy, but not HAPPY.

This is the story of a man who has a great life, but does not want it.

What is passion?

Webster defines passion as “a strong liking, desire, or devotion to an activity, object, or concept.”

I define passion as the emotional calling within you that fuels the perspective, focus, and actions you take to live your life and fulfill your life purpose.

Ambitions like throwing a football, being a talented musician, a talented craftsman, living like a great inventor, etc., are not obvious. Passion is something you think about and notice every day, not on a conscious level. Passion is harder to see because it’s more “energetic”.

People say they like their kids, family, hobbies, etc. These are all admirable interests, but I would say they are joyous and enjoyable interests. They can be the tip of your passion or an indicator of your passion. Passion is a common word that describes the feeling of a strong liking for something, but the passion we’re talking about here is a much bigger concept. It’s about the fundamental qualities that drive you and inspire you in life and living.

It’s important to understand that people often confuse passions with goals. The way I see it, purpose is the vehicle you ride because of your passion: your purpose is what you do (eg: play sports, write music, read literature, or raise children). Passion is the fuel and energy you use to drive: passion refers to how you are fueled (eg through creativity, problem solving or helping people).

Passion is the inner fire that burns within you as a result of using your natural gifts, talents, and purpose in the world. There is passion before use, but it is like a match that does not light. When you tap into your gifts, talents, and purpose, passion shines, personal fulfillment, and “life in flow”—everything works together, and every aspect of life is filled with joy, fulfillment, and collective power.

Why passion? Does everyone have a passion or are some people just more “emotional”?

Passion allows you to see the world and use your talents and talents to self-instrument. By doing this, you will begin to see your own reflection, which will help you identify your passion more easily. Once you identify your passions and feel the fire burning within, you will be able to focus and use those gifts and talents to the fullest – your purpose and passion will come together to drive the most fulfilling adventure of your life!

The rewards of living with passion are amazing! Once you try it, you will want to come back. It is a wonderful filling for your heart, body, mind and soul. You have energy, direction, purpose, and focus. As humans, we all want this, but sometimes it seems too difficult to make it happen, so we give up and decide to just enjoy life.

“What does life give us?” I ask. Make no mistake, we are not here on earth to float down the river on an inner tube, just passively taking what life has to offer. You will not find passion in that inner voice. You might hit some high speeds and have a little taste here and there, but if you want to know what it means to live with passion, you have to seek it out.

Life can throw some hard blows, hard lessons, challenges, and hardships. How you manage these is up to you. You see that quote, “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do.” The more you see life as a lesson, a learning experience, a gift, the happier you will be. The more you live your life with your goals and passions, the easier it will be to see things from this perspective. Do you want to create this synergy in your heart, body, mind and soul? Do you want to be fulfilled, overflowing with joy, and of value to the world?

Jack finds passion

Jack is tired of stumbling through life. He did some research and discovered a few things: he’s energized by the outdoors, fresh air, strategic thinking, and intelligence. In the past, he had these passions, appreciation for nature, strategic thinking and intelligence while playing golf. He stopped playing golf due to lack of time. The strange thing is that after resuming the hobby, he seems to have more time and energy.

I’ve also noticed that my job has become boring because I don’t read statistics like I did when I first started working. As he read the reports at the time, it inspired him to drive strategies that could save the company time and money. So he started reading the reports again and became more active in his work. That energy helped her get things done faster, be more positive, and finish on time for days so she could go home to her kids.

Jack got home on time so he took a little break before dinner and went outside to play with the kids: he loved throwing the ball around and teaching little Jake how to ride a bike! It inspired him to take his family out for a Saturday morning walk on the local parkway.

When Jack realized his passion was in nature, using his intellectual abilities to create solutions and strategies, he found similarities in all aspects of life. It was exciting and fascinating! He was happy and content and found cooperation in all areas of his life.

Now you know what passion is. You now know the benefits of inviting passion into your life. Take the time to explore your personal passions and integrate them into your life. Passion is a wonderful gift. If you want to LIVE your life to the fullest and enjoy it along the way, take the time to discover your passions. Incorporate them into your daily life. You will find that you have time for everything you used to do and more.
